How fast does your store answer?

Most store visits start on a phone, where every script and image waits its turn. Paste a page to measure how fast your server answers and what slows the page down, with the fix for each.

How do I test how fast my store loads?

Paste a page into the website speed test. It measures how fast your server answers (time to first byte) and how long the page takes to download, then finds what slows it down: compression, caching, render-blocking scripts, images and third-party tags, sampling up to 12 files, each with the fix.

01 — What it checks

Where the seconds go.08

A page is fast when the server answers quickly and the browser has little to wait for. The test checks both sides.

  • Server response

Time to first byte from our servers: how long until your HTML starts to arrive.

  • Download time

The full HTML download, including every redirect on the way.

  • Compression & size

gzip or Brotli on the HTML, the page’s weight and inline script bloat.

  • Caching

Cache-Control on the HTML and on up to 12 CSS and JavaScript files.

  • Render-blocking

Scripts in <head> without defer or async, and the number of stylesheets.

  • Images

Lazy loading, width and height (so the page doesn’t jump) and WebP or AVIF.

  • Third-party tags

Every outside host the page loads from, and the hints that speed them up.

  • Protocol & hints

HTTP/2, preload and preconnect links, and font-display for web fonts.

02 — How it works

From URL to fixes in three steps.

  1. We time your server

We request the page, follow redirects and time each step until the last byte of HTML arrives.

  2. We read what the page loads

Scripts, stylesheets, images, fonts and outside hosts, and up to 12 files sampled for caching and size.

  3. You get the fixes in order

Fails first, each with what to change and where. Passed checks are listed too.

What a server test can’t see

How the page renders in a real browser: Core Web Vitals, layout shifts and slow JavaScript. Confirm with PageSpeed Insights, or ask us for a full speed audit.

03 — Free test or speed audit

The test finds the queue. An audit clears it.

Questions about speed.

Not on the list? Ask on a call, or by email.

PageSpeed Insights loads the page in a real browser. This test times your server and reads what the page asks a browser to download, so it finds delivery problems fast. Use both.
