A 3x ROAS can lose money. Enter your order value, costs and ad results to see the ROAS you need to break even, what each sale really earns and the most you can pay for an order.
Above break-even with room to spare.
Change any number in the calculator and everything here follows. Point at the chart to read any ROAS.
Everything on this page comes from these four lines. Here they are with the example’s numbers.
Revenue from ads ÷ ad spend
15,000 ÷ 5,000 = 3.00x
(Order value − costs per order) ÷ order value
(80 − 42.40) ÷ 80 = 47%
1 ÷ margin
1 ÷ 0.47 = 2.13x
Order value × margin
80 × 0.47 = 37.60

Your margin before ads: 47%. Break-even ROAS = 1 ÷ margin.

Revenue an ad platform credits to its ads, ÷ its spend. Good for comparing campaigns inside one platform; platforms can claim the same order twice.
All store revenue ÷ all ad spend. No platform can inflate it, so it keeps the whole mix honest.
What’s left after product, shipping, fees, returns and ads. The number the bank sees.
Each tool reads one thing and tells you the fix. Run them in any order.

One above your break-even. A store with 70% margins profits at 1.5x; one with 30% margins needs more than 3.3x to break even. That’s why the calculator starts from your costs.
Use it to compare campaigns, but check it against your store’s numbers. Platforms count conversions their own way, and several can claim the same order. Blended ROAS (all revenue ÷ all ad spend) keeps everyone honest.
Everything that grows with each order: product cost, shipping and packing, payment fees, returns and discounts. Leave out fixed costs like rent and salaries; they don’t change the break-even of one order.
The most you can pay in ads for one order before it loses money: your order value times your margin.
No. It runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
